(Amendment) Notification 2024

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 57(1)(g) of the Platform Workers Act 2024, the Minister for Manpower makes the following Notification:

Citation and commencement

1. This Notification is the Platform Workers (Platform Work Associations — Expenditure of Funds) (Amendment) Notification 2024 and comes into operation on 1 January 2025.

New paragraph 1A

2. In the Platform Workers (Platform Work Associations — Expenditure of Funds) Notification 2024 (G.N. No. S 842/2024), after paragraph 1, insert —

“Definitions

1A. In this Notification —

“combined federation” has the meaning given by section 2 of the Trade Unions Act 1940;

“registered combined federation” means a combined federation registered under the Trade Unions Act 1940.”.

Amendment of paragraph 2

3. In the Platform Workers (Platform Work Associations — Expenditure of Funds) Notification 2024, in paragraph 2 —

(a)

replace sub‑paragraphs (a) and (b) with —

“(a)

the payment of affiliation fees to —

(i)	a registered combined federation; or
(ii)	a platform work association coordinating or advisory body registered in Singapore under any written law;

(b)

the payment of affiliation fees to —

(i)	a federation comprising one or more registered platform work associations and one or more similar entities registered or established outside Singapore under the law of another country; or
(ii)	a platform work association coordinating or advisory body,

that is established outside Singapore as the Minister may approve on application by the registered platform work association;”; and

(b)

replace sub‑paragraph (e) with —

“(e)	the payment of affiliation fees to cultural or educational associations or organisations registered under any written law within Singapore and any cultural or educational associations or organisations established outside Singapore that the Minister may approve;”.
