Wholesome Meat and Fish (Fees) (Amendment) Rules 2000

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 41 of the Wholesome Meat and Fish Act 1999, the Minister for National Development hereby makes the following Rules:

Citation and commencement

1. These Rules may be cited as the Wholesome Meat and Fish (Fees) (Amendment) Rules 2000 and shall come into operation on 3rd March 2000.

Deletion and substitution of Schedule

2. The Schedule to the Wholesome Meat and Fish (Fees) Rules 1999 (G.N. No. S553/99) is deleted and the following Schedule substituted therefor:

Fees for Inspection of Meat Products and Fish Products

1. For the inspection by a veterinary public health officer of any meat product, fish product or premises at the request of the owner thereof:

(a) professional service fee

(i) $63 per hour or part thereof

(ii) $133 per hour or part thereof (outside office hours or on an urgent basis)

(b) technical service fee

(i) $38 per hour or part thereof

(ii) $80 per hour or part thereof (outside office hours or on an urgent basis)

2. For the inspection by a veterinary public health officer of pigs, sheep, goats or cattle or the carcasses thereof at a licensed slaughter-house

$1.15 per animal.

$123 per group of pesticides and an additional $80 for every pesticide detected other than dithiocarbamate as total CS₂ per sample

9. Species identification of meat products or fish products by isoelectric focusing electrophoresis

$273 per 10 samples or part thereof

10. Testing of Beta-Agonist drug residues by Enzyme Immuno-Assay (EIA) Screening

$27 per test

11. Testing of Beta-Agonist drug residues by using Gas Chromatography Mass Spectrometric Detector (GC-MSD)

$140 per test

12. Testing of anti-microbial drug residues by Enzyme Immuno-Assay (EIA) or Microbial Inhibition Assay (MIA)

$37 per test

13. Examination of parasites in food samples

$41 per test

14. Testing of Staphylococcal Enterotoxin in food by Enzyme Immuno-Assay (EIA) Screening

$165 per 5 samples or part thereof

15. Toxin detection using laboratory animals

$190 per test.
