Newspaper and Printing Presses (Exemption) (No. 2) (Amendment) Order 2006

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 44(1)(b)(ii) of the Newspaper and Printing Presses Act, the Minister for Information, Communications and the Arts hereby makes the following Order:

Citation and commencement

1. This Order may be cited as the Newspaper and Printing Presses (Exemption) (No. 2) (Amendment) Order 2006 and shall be deemed to have come into operation on 20th September 2005.

Amendment of Schedule

2. The Schedule to the Newspaper and Printing Presses (Exemption) (No. 2) Order 2004 (G.N. No. S 507/2004) is amended —

(a)

by deleting the words “Caldecott Publishing Pte Ltd” in the second column of item 2 and substituting the words “MediaCorp Publishing Pte Ltd”;

(b)

by deleting item 7 and substituting the following item:

”;

(c)

by deleting the words “SBI E2-Capital Securities Pte Ltd” in the second column of item 12 and substituting the words “Westcomb Securities Pte Ltd”;

(d)

by deleting items 18, 19, 21, 23, 24, 27, 28, 29, 54, 61, 62, 71, 89, 92, 109 and 110;

(e)

by deleting the words “G K Goh Research Pte Ltd” in the second column of item 45 and substituting the words “CMIB-GK Research Pte Ltd”;

(f)

by deleting the words “NTUC News” in the first column of item 69 and substituting the words “NTUC This Week”;

(g)

by deleting the words “True Buddha Publications” in the second column of item 96 and substituting the words “Qiantai Printing & Publishing Pte Ltd”;

(h)

by deleting the words “You Weekly” in the first column of item 102 and substituting the word “UW”;

(i)

by deleting the word “Stash” in the first column of item 113 and substituting the words “Buy & Sell”; and

(j)

by inserting, immediately after item 116, the following items:
