(Amendment) Rules 2024

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 34 of the Road Traffic Act 1961, the Minister for Transport makes the following Rules:

Citation and commencement

1. These Rules are the Road Traffic (Motor Vehicles, Registration and Licensing) (Amendment) Rules 2024 and are deemed to have come into operation on 1 January 2024.

Amendment of rule 3

2. In the Road Traffic (Motor Vehicles, Registration and Licensing) Rules (R 5) (called in these Rules the principal Rules), in rule 3(2)(b)(ii), replace “$27.82” with “$28.34”.

Amendment of rule 3D

3. In the principal Rules, in rule 3D —

(a)	in paragraph (5)(ii), replace “$423.72” with “$431.64”; and
(b)	in paragraph (7), replace “$21.40” with “$21.80”.

Amendment of rule 3E

4. In the principal Rules, in rule 3E(4), replace “$32.10” with “$32.70”.

Amendment of rule 3F

5. In the principal Rules, in rule 3F(1), replace “$41.73” with “$42.51”.

Amendment of rule 8

6. In the principal Rules, in rule 8(14), replace “$21.40” with “$21.80”.

Amendment of rule 9B

7. In the principal Rules, in rule 9B(9)(c), replace “$41.73” with “$42.51”.

Amendment of rule 12B

8. In the principal Rules, in rule 12B —

(a)	in paragraphs (1) and (4), replace “$28.89” with “$29.43”;
(b)	in paragraph (3), replace “$70.62” with “$71.94”;
(c)	in paragraph (6)(b), replace “$267.50” with “$272.50”; and
(d)	in paragraph (7), replace “$21.40” with “$21.80”.

Amendment of rule 13

9. In the principal Rules, in rule 13 —

(a)	in paragraph (2), replace “$18.19” with “$18.53”;
(b)	in paragraphs (3) and (5), replace “$5.35” with “$5.45”;
(c)	in paragraph (4), replace “$28.89” with “$29.43”;

Amendment of rule 15

10. In the principal Rules, in rule 15(2)(b), replace “$321” with “$327”.

Amendment of rule 16

14. In the principal Rules, in rule 34A(3C)(b) and (7), replace “$37.45” with “$38.15”.

Amendment of rule 34B

15. In the principal Rules, in rule 34B(10)(b) —

(a)	in sub-paragraph (i)(A), replace “$267.50” with “$272.50”;
(b)	in sub-paragraph (i)(B), replace “$642” with “$654”; and
(c)	in sub-paragraph (ii), replace “$133.75” with “$136.25”.

Amendment of rule 34C

16. In the principal Rules, in rule 34C(10)(b) —
