Central Provident Fund
(Amendment) Rules 2022

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 77(2) of the Central Provident Fund Act 1953, the Central Provident Fund Board makes the following Rules:

Citation and commencement

1. These Rules are the Central Provident Fund (Amendment) Rules 2022 and come into operation on 1 March 2022.

Amendment of rule 6

2. Rule 6 of the Central Provident Fund Rules (R 3) (called in these Rules the principal Rules) is amended by deleting the words “section 77(1)(a)” and substituting the words “section 77(1)”.

Amendment of rule 17

3. Rule 17 of the principal Rules is amended —

(a)

by deleting the words “section 15(2)(d), (e), (f) or (g), (6B), (7A)(a), (b), (ba) or (c), (8)(a), (b), (c) or (d) or (15)(e)(ii) of the Act” in paragraph (a) and substituting the words “section 15(6B) or 15AA(1), (2)(a) or (3)(a) of the Act or a former provision”; and

(b)

by renumbering the rule as paragraph (1) of that rule, and by inserting immediately thereafter the following paragraph:

“(2) In this rule, “former provision” means section 15(2)(d), (e), (f) or (g), (7A)(a), (b), (c) or (d) or (8)(a), (b), (c) or (d) of the Act as in force before 1 March 2022.”.

Amendment of rule 18

4. Rule 18(1) of the principal Rules is amended by inserting, immediately after the words “section 15”, the words “, 15AA or 15AB”.
