Singapore Police Service Long Service and Good Conduct Medal Rules 1994 |

1. These Rules may be cited as the Singapore Police Service Long Service and Good Conduct Medal Rules 1994 and shall come into operation on 1st April 1994. |
3. A medal to be known as “The Singapore Police Service Long Service and Good Conduct Medal” may be awarded to an eligible person in recognition of his long and exemplary service and good conduct in the Singapore Police Service, subject to the minimum requirement in Rule 4. |
4.—(1) An eligible person shall qualify for the award of the Medal if he has completed 12 years in continuous qualifying service.

5. The Medal or Clasp shall be awarded by the President acting in accordance with the recommendation of the Minister or of the following recommending authorities through the Minister:

6. The name of any person to whom the Medal or Clasp is awarded shall be published in the Gazette. |
7.—(1) A person to whom the Medal or Clasp is awarded shall forfeit the Medal or Clasp —

8. The loss or destruction of a Medal or Clasp shall, if the replacement is desired, be reported by the recipient to the recommending authority who may, if he is satisfied that the circumstances in which the loss or destruction occurred are such as to justify replacement, approve the replacement subject to payment made by the recipient to cover the cost of replacement thereof. No such report shall be made until 6 months after the alleged loss or destruction. |
9. The Medal shall consist of a circular medal in silver measuring 3.6 centimetres in diameter and 0.3 centimetres in thickness. On the obverse side there shall be the Coat-of-Arms of the Republic of Singapore encircled by the inscription “PERKHIDMATAN POLIS SINGAPURA”. On the reverse side there shall be the head of a lion and circled by the inscription “PINGAT BAKTI SETIA” and below the lion’s head shall be a laurel wreath. |
10. The Medal shall be worn by the recipient on the left side of the outer garment suspended by a ribbon 3.3 centimetres in width and 4.6 centimetres in length. The ribbon shall have vertical stripes of blue, gold and silver. The colours from the right and left to the centre of the ribbon shall be blue, gold, blue, silver and blue. The width of the outer blue stripes on each side and the blue stripe in the centre shall be 0.5 centimetres each and that of the other stripes shall be 0.3 centimetres. |
11. The Medal shall be of the design set out in the Schedule. |
