(Chapter 104)
Factories (Certificate of Competency — Examinations) (Amendment) Regulations 1996
In exercise of the powers conferred by section 102(1) of the Factories Act, the Minister for Labour hereby makes the following Regulations:
1.  These Regulations may be cited as the Factories (Certificate of Competency — Examinations) (Amendment) Regulations 1996 and shall come into operation on 1st May 1996.
2.  The Second Schedule to the Factories (Certificate of Competency — Examinations) Regulations is deleted and the following Schedule substituted therefor:
“SECOND SCHEDULE
Regulations 5 (4), 8(5), 15(1), 18(2) and 19(2)
The fees set out in the second column shall be payable in respect of the matters specified in the first column.

(1) Prescribed examination for —
 
(a) a first-grade engineer certificate of competency
$50 per subject paper.
(b) a second-grade engineer certificate of competency
$40 per subject paper.
(c) a first-class boiler attendant certificate of competency or a first-class driver (internal combustion engine) certificate of competency
$50.
(d) a second-class boiler attendant certificate of competency or a second-class driver (internal combustion engine) certificate of competency
$45.
(2) Issue of a certificate of competency under regulation 5(1)
$60.
(3) Issue of a certificate of competency under regulation 5(2)
$140.
(4) Issue of a duplicate certificate —
 
(a) upon surrender of the defaced certificate
$15.
(b) where the certificate is lost or destroyed
$20.
