(Automated Road Defects Inspection Trial —
Exemption) Order 2021
In exercise of the powers conferred by section 82 of the Infrastructure Protection Act 2017, the Minister for Home Affairs makes the following Order:
Citation and period in force
1.—(1)  This Order is the Infrastructure Protection (Automated Road Defects Inspection Trial — Exemption) Order 2021.
(2)  This Order is in force for the period between 26 February 2021 and 28 February 2022 (both dates inclusive).
Exemption from taking photograph of protected area or protected place
2.  Section 29(1) of the Act does not apply to any person under a contract for service (called in this Order a contractor) with the Land Transport Authority of Singapore to conduct, or any employee of the contractor acting on the contractor’s behalf who conducts, an automated road defects inspection trial under all of the following conditions:
(a)the contractor (or any of the contractor’s employees acting on the contractor’s behalf) acts in accordance with any direction of the Land Transport Authority of Singapore relating to the taking of any photograph of a protected area or a protected place;
(b)the taking of any photograph of a protected area or a protected place is conducted using equipment mounted on an inspection vehicle;
(c)the taking of any photograph of a protected area or a protected place is solely for the purposes of the automated road defects inspection trial.
