Taxi Fares

It is hereby notified for general information that, pursuant to section 20(1) of the Public Transport Council Act, the Public Transport Council has approved, with effect from 27th March 1997, the following amendments to the rates of hire of a taxi.

2. Notification N 3 is amended by deleting item (17) and substituting the following item:

“

(17)	The maximum rates of hire for hiring a Premier Taxi operated under the Airport Direct Scheme are as follows:

Make/Model of Taxis

Nissan Cedric and Toyota Crown

Mercedes Benz E300

(a)	from any pick-up point in Singapore to Changi Airport

$29

$42

(b)	from Changi Airport to anywhere in Singapore

In addition, the following charges will be chargeable where appropriate:

(a)	for cancellation of a booking one hour prior to pick-up time, a cancellation charge of $10 is chargeable;

(b)	for extra stops made which must be on the way to the final destination, a charge of $10 per stop is chargeable;

(c)	for transfers between midnight and 6 a.m., a midnight surcharge of $12 is chargeable.

Where the rates of hire of a taxi under this item are chargeable, the rates of hire from items (1) to (16) will not be chargeable.
