Employment of Foreign Workers (Levy) (Amendment) Order 2007

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 11(1) of the Employment of Foreign Workers Act, the Minister for Manpower hereby makes the following Order:

Citation and commencement

1.—(1) This Order may be cited as the Employment of Foreign Workers (Levy) (Amendment) Order 2007 and shall, with the exception of paragraph 2, come into operation on 1st April 2007.

(2) Paragraph 2 shall be deemed to have come into operation on 1st January 2007.

Amendment of paragraph 2

2. Paragraph 2 of the Employment of Foreign Workers (Levy) Order (O 1) (referred to in this Order as the principal Order) is amended by deleting “35%” in paragraph (b) of the definition of “threshold percentage” and substituting “40%”.

Amendment of paragraph 4A

3. Paragraph 4A of the principal Order is amended —

(a)	by deleting “$310” in sub-paragraph (b)(i) and (ii) and substituting in each case “$280”; and
(b)	by deleting “$11” in sub-paragraph (b)(ii) and substituting “$10”.

Amendment of paragraph 13

4. Paragraph 13 of the principal Order is amended —

(a)	by deleting “$310” in sub-paragraph (b)(i) and (ii) and substituting in each case “$280”; and
