(Medisave Account Withdrawals)
(Amendment) Regulations 2018

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 77(1)(j) of the Central Provident Fund Act, the Minister for Manpower, after consulting with the Central Provident Fund Board, makes the following Regulations:

Citation and commencement

1. These Regulations are the Central Provident Fund (Medisave Account Withdrawals) (Amendment) Regulations 2018 and come into operation on 1 April 2018.

Amendment of regulation 2

2. Regulation 2(1) of the Central Provident Fund (Medisave Account Withdrawals) Regulations (Rg 17) is amended by inserting, immediately before the definition of “approved centre”, the following definitions:

“ “allied health professional” has the same meaning as in section 2 of the Allied Health Professions Act (Cap. 6B);

“approved allied health professional” means any allied health professional who is approved by the Minister charged with the responsibility for health for the purposes of these Regulations;”.

Amendment of regulation 3

3. Regulation 3(1) of the Central Provident Fund (Medisave Account Withdrawals) Regulations is amended by deleting sub‑paragraph (a) and substituting the following sub‑paragraphs:

“(a)

any medical treatment or psychiatric treatment —

(i)	in any approved medical institution from an approved medical practitioner; or
(ii)	in any other centre, clinic, hospital or premises approved by the Minister charged with the responsibility for health under paragraph (1A);

(aa)

any approved rehabilitation treatment —

(i)	in any approved medical institution from an approved medical practitioner or an approved allied health professional; or
(ii)	in any other centre, clinic, hospital or premises approved by the Minister charged with the responsibility for health under paragraph (1A); or”.
