Free Trade Zones
(Manufacture) (Amendment)
Regulations 2024
In exercise of the powers conferred by section 24 of the Free Trade Zones Act 1966, the Minister for Finance makes the following Regulations:
Citation and commencement
1.  These Regulations are the Free Trade Zones (Manufacture) (Amendment) Regulations 2024 and come into operation on 1 March 2024.
Deletion of regulation 2
2.  In the Free Trade Zones (Manufacture) Regulations (Rg 2) (called in these Regulations the principal Regulations), delete regulation 2.
Amendment of regulation 3
3.  In the principal Regulations, in regulation 3 —
(a)replace the regulation heading with —
Particulars for written permission for manufacture in free trade zone”; and
(b)replace “An application for the approval of the Minister under section 10 of the Act for the manufacture of goods in a free trade zone shall be made in writing to the Director‑General specifying” with “A written notice to the Director‑General for the Director‑General’s written permission under section 6(1)(b) of the Act for the manufacture of goods in a free trade zone by a person (called the applicant) must specify”.
Amendment of regulation 14
4.  In the principal Regulations, in regulation 14 —
(a)in the regulation heading, replace “approval” with “permission”; and
(b)replace “Minister may revoke any approval” with “Director‑General may revoke any permission”.
