Control of Plants (Phytosanitary Certification) (Amendment) Rules 1997

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 46 of the Control of Plants Act, the Minister for National Development hereby makes the following Rules:

Citation and commencement

1. These Rules may be cited as the Control of Plants (Phytosanitary Certification) (Amendment) Rules 1997 and shall come into operation on 1st April 1997.

Amendment of rule 6

2. Rule 6 of the Control of Plants (Phytosanitary Certification) Rules (R 6) (referred to in these Rules as the principal Rules) is amended —

(a)	by deleting paragraph (b); and
(b)	by deleting the words “and permits” in the marginal note.

Amendment of rule 7

3. Rule 7 of the principal Rules is amended by deleting paragraphs (2) and (3).

Amendment of rule 8

4. Rule 8 (3) of the principal Rules is amended by deleting the words “and any export permit” in the fifth line.

Deletion and substitution of Second Schedule

5. The Second Schedule to the principal Rules is deleted and the following Schedule substituted therefor:

“SECOND SCHEDULE

Rules 6, 7 and 9

Service rendered

Fee payable

(1)	Inspection and certification of fresh cut flowers or plants

(a)	$6 per consignment not exceeding 24 stalks or 10 numbers/units of plants;

(b)	$30 per consignment exceeding 24 stalks or 10 numbers/units of plants.

(2)	Inspection and certification of plant products

(a)	$10 per consignment not exceeding 5 kg;

(b)	$50 per consignment exceeding 5 kg.

(3)	Laboratory examination of flowers, plants or plant products for any pest or pathogen

$40 per pest examination.

(4)	Issuance of replacement set of phytosanitary certificate

$10 per set.

(5)	Endorsement of fumigation certificate or duplicate phytosanitary certificate

$14 per set.

(6)	Professional service fee

(a)	$50 per hour or part thereof;

(b)	$100 per hour or part thereof (outside office hours or on an urgent basis).

(7)	Technical service fee

(a)	$30 per hour or part thereof;

(b)	$60 per hour or part thereof (outside office hours or on an urgent basis).”.
