Immigration (Amendment No. 4) Regulations 1996

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 55(1) of the Immigration Act, the Minister for Home Affairs hereby makes the following Regulations:

1. These Regulations may be cited as the Immigration (Amendment No. 4) Regulations 1996 and shall come into operation on 19th April 1996.

2. Regulation 10(3) of the Immigration Regulations (Rg 1) is amended by deleting the words “Commissioner for Employment” and substituting the words:

““Controller of Work Permits under the Employment of Foreign Workers Act (Cap. 91A).”.

3. Regulation 12 of the Immigration Regulations is amended —

(a)	by deleting the words “12 months” in the fourth line of paragraph (6) and substituting the words “5 years”; and
(b)	by deleting the words “Commissioner for Employment” in the second line of paragraph (9) and substituting the words “Controller of Work Permits under the Employment of Foreign Workers Act (Cap. 91A)”.

4. Regulation 40(1) of the Immigration Regulations is amended by deleting the words “or (b)” in the third line and substituting the words “, (b) or (c)”.
