Workmen’s Compensation (Workers’ Fund) (Amendment) Regulations 2008

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 45 of the Work Injury Compensation Act, the Minister for Manpower hereby makes the following Regulations:

Citation and commencement

1. These Regulations may be cited as the Workmen’s Compensation (Workers’ Fund) (Amendment) Regulations 2008 and shall come into operation on 1st April 2008.

Amendment of title

2. The Workmen’s Compensation (Workers’ Fund) Regulations (Rg 2) (referred to in these Regulations as the principal Regulations) are amended by deleting the words “WORKMEN’S COMPENSATION” in the title and substituting the words “WORK INJURY COMPENSATION”.

Amendment of regulation 1

3. Regulation 1 of the principal Regulations is amended by deleting the words “Workmen’s Compensation” and substituting the words “Work Injury Compensation”.

Amendment of regulation 3

4. Regulation 3 of the principal Regulations is amended —

(a)	by deleting the words “workmen’s compensation” in paragraph (a) and substituting the words “work injury compensation”; and
(b)	by deleting the words “deceased workers” in paragraph (b) and substituting the words “employees who have died and”.

Amendment of regulation 5

5. Regulation 5 of the principal Regulations is amended —

(a)	by deleting the words “workmen’s compensation” in paragraph (a) and substituting the words “work injury compensation”;
(b)	by deleting the word “workers” in paragraphs (a), (c) and (d) and substituting in each case the word “employees”; and
(c)	by deleting the words “workers’ welfare” in paragraph (e) and substituting the words “employees’ welfare”.

Amendment of regulation 6

6. Regulation 6(1) of the principal Regulations is amended by deleting the word “workman” and substituting the word “employee”.

Deletion and substitution of Schedule

7. The Schedule to the principal Regulations is deleted and the following Schedule substituted therefor:
