Sewerage and Drainage (Surface Water Drainage) Regulations 1999 |

Citation and commencement |
1. These Regulations may be cited as the Sewerage and Drainage (Surface Water Drainage) Regulations 1999 and shall come into operation on 1st April 1999. |
Definition |
2. In these Regulations, unless the context otherwise requires, “Code of Practice” means the Code of Practice on Surface Water Drainage issued under section 33 of the Act. |

Prohibition of discharge of silt, etc., into storm water drainage system |
4.—(1) No person shall discharge or cause or permit the discharge into the storm water drainage system of Total Suspended Solids in concentrations greater than 50 milligrams per litre of the discharge.

Works approved under section 34 (5) of Act |
5.—(1) Any works approved by the Director under section 34(5) of the Act for the purposes of section 24, 25 or 27 of the Act shall be carried out in accordance with the Code of Practice and any conditions imposed by the Director under section 34(7) of the Act.

Penalty |
6. Any person who contravenes or fails to comply with any provision of these Regulations shall be guilty of an offence and shall be liable on conviction to a fine not exceeding $5,000 and, in the case of a continuing offence, to a further fine of $500 for every day or part thereof during which the offence continues after conviction. |
Revocation |
7. The Surface Water Drainage Regulations (Cap.348, Rg 3) are revoked. |
