(Amendment) Rules 2022

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 75A of the Legal Profession Act 1966, the Council of the Law Society of Singapore, with the approval of the Chief Justice, makes the following Rules:

Citation and commencement

1. These Rules are the Legal Profession (Professional Indemnity Insurance) (Amendment) Rules 2022 and come into operation on 14 January 2022.

Deletion and substitution of rule 7

2. Rule 7 of the Legal Profession (Professional Indemnity Insurance) Rules (R 11) is deleted and the following rule substituted therefor:

“Exemption

7. These Rules do not apply to any solicitor who is —

(a)	employed by the Society or any statutory board or authority; and
(b)	issued a certificate by the Attorney‑General under section 26(3) of the Act.”.
