Employment of Foreign Workers Act
(Chapter 91A)
Work Permit (Exemption) (No. 2) Notification 2007
In exercise of the powers conferred by section 4 of the Employment of Foreign Workers Act, the Minister for Manpower hereby makes the following Notification:
Citation and commencement
1.  This Notification may be cited as the Work Permit (Exemption) (No. 2) Notification 2007 and shall come into operation on 1st May 2007.
Exemption
2.—(1)  Any person who employs or wishes to employ a foreign worker, who is 14 years of age or above and is a full-time matriculated or registered student of —
(a)the S.P. Jain Center of Management Singapore;
(b)the SIM University;
(c)the ESSEC;
(d)the UNLV Singapore;
(e)the UNSW Asia; or
(f)the NYU Tisch School of the Arts, Asia,
and who is on vacation, is hereby exempted from applying for a work permit under section 7 of the Act in respect of that foreign worker.
(2)  Any person who employs or wishes to employ a foreign worker who is a full-time matriculated or registered student of —
(a)the S.P. Jain Center of Management Singapore;
(b)the SIM University;
(c)the ESSEC;
(d)the UNLV Singapore;
(e)the UNSW Asia; or
(f)the NYU Tisch School of the Arts, Asia,
is hereby exempted from applying for a work permit under section 7 of the Act in respect of that foreign worker.
(3)  Sub-paragraph (2) shall not apply in respect of a foreign worker who is required to work for more than 16 hours a week.
