Infectious Diseases
(COVID‑19 — Stay Orders)
(Amendment No. 2) Regulations 2020

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 73 of the Infectious Diseases Act, the Minister for Health makes the following Regulations:

Citation and commencement

1. These Regulations are the Infectious Diseases (COVID‑19 — Stay Orders) (Amendment No. 2) Regulations 2020 and come into operation on 29 March 2020.

Amendment of regulation 3

2. Regulation 3 of the Infectious Diseases (COVID‑19 — Stay Orders) Regulations 2020 (G.N. No. S 182/2020) is amended —

(a)

by inserting, immediately after the words “place of accommodation specified in the order” in paragraph (1), the words “or in writing by a specified person”;

(b)

by deleting the words “(not exceeding 14 days) specified in the order” in paragraph (1) and substituting the words “specified in the order, starting upon the issue of the order and up to and including the 14th day after the day of the issue of the order”; and

(c)

by deleting sub‑paragraph (a) of paragraph (4) and substituting the following sub‑paragraph:

“(a)

only where necessary to obtain —

(i)	medical treatment for a suspected COVID‑19 infection at a hospital, medical clinic or any other place, designated by the Director for the treatment of COVID‑19; or
(ii)	emergency medical treatment or other medical treatment that is of a pressing nature; or”.

Amendment of regulation 4

3. Regulation 4(2) of the Infectious Diseases (COVID‑19 — Stay Orders) Regulations 2020 is amended by deleting the word “and” and substituting the word “or”.
