(Chapter 2)

Accountants (Public Accountants) (Amendment) Rules 2006

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 64 of the Accountants Act, the Accounting and Corporate Regulatory Authority, with the approval of the Minister for Finance, hereby makes the following Rules:

Citation and commencement

1. These Rules may be cited as the Accountants (Public Accountants) (Amendment) Rules 2006 and shall come into operation on 3rd April 2006.

Amendment of Second Schedule

2. Paragraph 2 of the Second Schedule to the Accountants (Public Accountants) Rules 2004 (G.N. No. S 164/2004) is amended —

(a)

by inserting, immediately after the words “Bachelor of Accountancy” in sub-paragraph (a)(ix), the words “or Master of Professional Accountancy”;

(b)

by deleting the word “and” at the end of sub-paragraph (b)(x) (A); and

(c)

by deleting the comma at the end of sub-paragraph (B) of sub-paragraph (b)(x) and substituting a semi-colon, and by inserting immediately thereafter the following sub-paragraphs:

“(C)	Advanced Taxation; and
(D)	Company Law and Corporate Governance,”.
