Factories (Building Operations and Works of Engineering Construction) (Amendment) Regulations 2004

In exercise of the powers conferred by sections 68 and 77 of the Factories Act, Dr Ng Eng Hen, Minister of State, Ministry of Education, charged with the responsibility of the Minister for Manpower, hereby makes the following Regulations:

Citation and commencement

1. These Regulations may be cited as the Factories (Building Operations and Works of Engineering Construction) (Amendment) Regulations 2004 and shall come into operation on 1st May 2004.

Amendment of regulation 2

2. Regulation 2 of the Factories (Building Operations and Works of Engineering Construction) Regulations (Rg 8) (referred to in these Regulations as the principal Regulations) is amended by deleting the definitions of “bay”, “frame or modular scaffold”, “independent tied scaffold”, “ledger”, “lift”, “light duty work”, “puncheon”, “putlog”, “reveal tie”, “right angle coupler”, “sole plate”, “standard”, “suspended scaffold”, “swivel coupler”, “tie”, “transom” and “tubular scaffold”.

Amendment of regulation 4

3. Regulation 4 of the principal Regulations is amended by deleting paragraph (2).

Deletion of Part X

4. The principal Regulations are amended by deleting Part X.
