(ElderShield Scheme) (Amendment)
Regulations 2024

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 64 of the CareShield Life and Long‑Term Care Act 2019, the Minister for Health makes the following Regulations:

Citation and commencement

1. These Regulations are the CareShield Life and Long‑Term Care (ElderShield Scheme) (Amendment) Regulations 2024 and come into operation on 31 March 2024.

Amendment of regulation 7

2. In the CareShield Life and Long‑Term Care (ElderShield Scheme) Regulations 2021 (G.N. No. S 810/2021), in regulation 7 —

(a)

in paragraph (1)(e), delete “or” at the end;

(b)

in paragraph (1)(f), replace the full‑stop at the end with a semi-colon;

(c)

in paragraph (1), after sub‑paragraph (f), insert —

“(g)	the individual ceases to be a citizen of Singapore on or after 1 April 2024 and does not immediately become a permanent resident of Singapore; or
(h)	the individual ceases to be a permanent resident of Singapore on or after 1 April 2024 and does not immediately become a citizen of Singapore.”;

(d)

in paragraph (2)(d), delete “and” at the end;

(e)

in paragraph (2)(e), replace the full‑stop at the end with a semi-colon; and

(f)

in paragraph (2), after sub‑paragraph (e), insert —

“(f)	in the circumstances set out in sub‑paragraph (g) of that paragraph — on the date immediately after the date on which the individual ceases to be a citizen of Singapore and does not immediately become a permanent resident of Singapore; and
(g)	in the circumstances set out in sub‑paragraph (h) of that paragraph — on the date immediately after the date on which the individual ceases to be a permanent resident of Singapore and does not immediately become a citizen of Singapore.”.
