Commissioners for Oaths
(Amendment) Rules 2023

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 68(3) of the Supreme Court of Judicature Act 1969, the Senate of the Singapore Academy of Law makes the following Rules:

Citation and commencement

1. These Rules are the Commissioners for Oaths (Amendment) Rules 2023 and come into operation on 16 January 2023.

Amendment of rule 2

2. In rule 2 of the Commissioners for Oaths Rules (R 3) (called in these Rules the principal Rules), after the definition of “oath”, insert —

“ “PD Officer” has the meaning given by section 82(3) of the Legal Profession Act 1966;”.

Amendment of rule 3

3. In rule 3(1) of the principal Rules, replace “or a Legal Service Officer” with “, a Legal Service Officer or a PD Officer”.

Amendment of rule 5

4. In rule 5(2)(a)(i) of the principal Rules, replace “or a Legal Service Officer” with “, a Legal Service Officer or a PD Officer”.
