Exemption) Order 2024

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 142 of the Road Traffic Act 1961, the Minister for Home Affairs makes the following Order:

Citation and period in force

1.—(1) This Order is the Road Traffic (Car‑Free Sunday 2024 —Exemption) Order 2024.

(2) This Order is in force on 16 March 2024 and 17 March 2024.

Definitions

2. In this Order —

“specified event” means the Car‑Free Sunday 2024 event organised by First Wave Pte. Ltd. (UEN 200703292W) on 16 March 2024 and 17 March 2024;

“specified road” means any of the roads delineated by the black‑coloured lines in the map set out in the Schedule.

Exemption for use of bicycle

3. Rules 5, 6, 7, 7A, 8, 10, 11 and 14 of the Road Traffic (Bicycles, Three‑wheeled Pedal Cycles, Trishaws and Recumbent Devices — Road Conduct) Rules (R 3) do not apply to any person who rides a bicycle on a specified road during and in connection with the specified event.
