Electricity (Electricity Transmission Licence) (Exemption) Order 2008
In exercise of the powers conferred by section 8 of the Electricity Act, the Energy Market Authority of Singapore, with the approval of the Minister for Trade and Industry, hereby makes the following Order:
Citation and commencement
1.—(1)  This Order may be cited as the Electricity (Electricity Transmission Licence) (Exemption) Order 2008 and shall come into operation on 22nd April 2008.
(2)  This Order shall remain in operation for a period of 5 years until 21st April 2013.
Exemption from section 6(1)(b) of Act
2.  Section 6(1)(b) of the Act shall not apply to Invista (Singapore) Pte Ltd in respect of the transmission of electricity from its premises at 1 Sakra Avenue, Singapore 628225 to the premises of any company specified in the Schedule, subject to the following conditions:
(a)Invista (Singapore) Pte Ltd shall not register itself as a market participant of the transmission licensee class as stipulated in the market rules;
(b)Invista (Singapore) Pte Ltd shall not allow any generating unit, other than a standby generating unit which is used solely to provide backup power in the event of interruption of electricity supply from the transmission system, to be connected to its electrical installation; and
(c)Invista (Singapore) Pte Ltd shall comply with any code of practice issued or approved by the Authority under section 16 of the Act and any direction given by the Authority under section 17 of the Act.
