(Amendment of First Schedule)
Order 2022

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 62 of the Biological Agents and Toxins Act 2005, the Minister for Health makes the following Order:

Citation and commencement

1. This Order is the Biological Agents and Toxins Act 2005 (Amendment of First Schedule) Order 2022 and comes into operation on 2 April 2022.

Amendment of First Schedule

2. In the First Schedule to the Biological Agents and Toxins Act 2005 —

(a)

in Part 1, before item 3 under “VIRUSES”, insert —

“2A.

Coronaviridae

(a)	Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome Coronavirus 2 (SARS‑CoV‑2), also known as Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID‑19) virus”; and

(b)

in Part 2, in item 2 under “VIRUSES”, delete paragraph (c).
