Parks and Trees
(Amendment) Regulations 2012

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 63 of the Parks and Trees Act, the National Parks Board, with the approval of the Minister for National Development, hereby makes the following Regulations:

Citation and commencement

1. These Regulations may be cited as the Parks and Trees (Amendment) Regulations 2012 and shall come into operation on 27th May 2012.

Amendment of regulation 8

2. Regulation 8 of the Parks and Trees Regulations (Rg 1) is amended by deleting paragraph (3) and substituting the following paragraph:

“(3) In addition to paragraphs (1) and (2), no person shall, except with the approval of the Commissioner and in accordance with the terms and conditions of such approval —

(a)	carry out any play-reading, recital, lecture, talk, address, debate or discussion;
(b)	organise or participate (other than solely as a member of audience) in any performance or exhibition; or
(c)	organise any demonstration,

at the area in Hong Lim Park known as the Speakers’ Corner and delineated in the Schedule to the Public Entertainments and Meetings (Speakers’ Corner) (Exemption) Order 2012 (G.N. No. S 222/2012) and the Schedule to the Public Order (Unrestricted Area) Order 2012 (G.N. No. S 223/2012), respectively.”.
