In exercise of the powers conferred by section 34(1) of the COVID‑19 (Temporary Measures) Act 2020, the Minister for Health makes the following Regulations:

Citation and commencement

1.—(1) These Regulations are the COVID‑19 (Temporary Measures) (Foreign Employee Dormitories — Control Order) (Amendment No. 2) Regulations 2022 and, except for regulation 5, come into operation on 29 March 2022.

(2) Regulation 5 is deemed to have come into operation on 31 December 2021.

Amendment of regulation 2

2. Regulation 2(1) of the COVID‑19 (Temporary Measures) (Foreign Employee Dormitories — Control Order) Regulations 2020 (G.N. No. S 781/2020) (called in these Regulations the principal Regulations) is amended by deleting the definition of “building sector worker”.

Amendment of regulation 6

3. Regulation 6 of the principal Regulations is amended —

(a)

by deleting sub-paragraphs (a) and (b) of paragraph (1);

(b)

by deleting sub-paragraphs (a) and (b) of paragraph (3) and substituting the following sub‑paragraph:

“(a)

on roads for journeys wholly within Singapore, and where directed by the Chief of the Assurance, Care and Engagement (ACE) Group, with no stopping points between the specified dormitory the passenger is a resident of and the place he or she is allowed to visit on his or her rest day with the permission from the Chief of the Assurance, Care and Engagement (ACE) Group; and”.

Deletion of regulations 11, 12 and 13

4. Regulations 11, 12 and 13 of the principal Regulations are deleted.

Amendment of regulation 14

5. Regulation 14 of the principal Regulations is amended by deleting the words “section 23 of the Fire Safety Act (Cap. 109A)” in paragraph (a) and substituting the words “section 55 of the Fire Safety Act 1993”.
