Central Provident Fund Act
(Chapter 36)
Central Provident Fund (Medisave Account Withdrawals) (Amendment) Regulations 1999
In exercise of the powers conferred by section 77(1)(j) of the Central Provident Fund Act, the Minister for Manpower, after consultation with the Central Provident Fund Board, hereby makes the following Regulations:
Citation and commencement
1.  These Regulations may be cited as the Central Provident Fund (Medisave Account Withdrawals) (Amendment) Regulations 1999 and shall come into operation on 1st June 1999.
Amendment of Schedule
2.  The Schedule to the Central Provident Fund (Medisave Account Withdrawals) Regulations (Rg 17) is amended by inserting, immediately after item 5, the following item:
“
6. Blood transfusions and desferrioxamine for the medical treatment of thalassaemia
With effect from 1st June 1999
$350 per month or the total credit balance in the member’s medisave account, whichever is the lower.
”.
