Fire Safety (Specification of Premises Requiring Fire Safety Managers) Notification 1996

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 22(1) of the Fire Safety Act, the Minister for Home Affairs hereby makes the following Notification:

1. This Notification may be cited as the Fire Safety (Specification of Premises Requiring Fire Safety Managers) Notification 1996 and shall come into operation on 1st June 1996.

2. The Minister specifies that a public building that is issued with a certificate of statutory completion or a temporary occupation permit under section 20 of the Building Control Act [Cap. 29] and —

(a)	has a floor area of 5,000 square metres or more; or
(b)	has an occupant load of 1,000 persons or more,

to be premises in respect of which the owner or occupier is required to appoint a fire safety manager.
