Public Utilities (Electricity) (Amendment) Regulations 2002
In exercise of the powers conferred by section 130 of the Public Utilities Act (Cap. 261) read with section 73(6) of the Public Utilities Act 2001, the Energy Market Authority of Singapore, with the approval of the Minister for Trade and Industry, hereby makes the following Regulations:
Citation and commencement
1.  These Regulations may be cited as the Public Utilities (Electricity) (Amendment) Regulations 2002 and shall come into operation on 1st April 2002.
Revocation of Part IV, savings and transitional provisions
2.—(1)  Part IV of the Public Utilities (Electricity) Regulations (Cap. 261, Rg 2) is revoked.
(2)  Subject to paragraph (3), any goods which immediately before 1st April 2002 were approved by the Public Utilities Board or the Energy Market Authority of Singapore under regulation 23 of the revoked Part IV of the Public Utilities (Electricity) Regulations under and for the purposes of that Part shall be treated as registered controlled goods under and for the purposes of the Consumer Protection (Safety Requirements) Regulations 2002 (G. N. No. S 23/2002) for the remaining period of such approval or 3 years from and including 1st April 2002, whichever is the less.
(3)  Unless the Safety Authority otherwise allows, no goods approved under the revoked Part IV of the Public Utilities (Electricity) Regulations shall be treated as registered controlled goods under paragraph (2) unless the person who obtained the approval for the goods under the revoked Part IV of the Public Utilities (Electricity) Regulations is, on 1st April 2002, a Registered Supplier under the Consumer Protection (Safety Requirements) Regulations 2002 (G.N. NO. S 23/2002).
(4)  Nothing in this regulation shall prevent the registration of any goods referred to in paragraph (2) from being renewed under Part II of the Consumer Protection (Safety Requirements) Regulations 2002.
