Legal Profession
(Admission) (Amendment) Rules 2025
In exercise of the powers conferred by section 10(1) and (2) of the Legal Profession Act 1966, the Board of Directors of the Singapore Institute of Legal Education, after consulting the Minister for Law and the Council of the Law Society of Singapore, makes the following Rules:
Citation and commencement
1.  These Rules are the Legal Profession (Admission) (Amendment) Rules 2025 and are deemed to have come into operation on 17 January 2025.
Amendment of rule 25
2.  In the Legal Profession (Admission) Rules 2024 (G.N. No. S 597/2024), in rule 25, delete paragraph (9).
Transitional provision
3.—(1)  A statement in any affidavit filed on any date between 17 January 2025 and 22 April 2025 (both dates inclusive) in support of an application for admission, which purports to comply with the provision deleted by rule 2, may be disregarded for the purposes of considering that application.
(2)  In this rule, “application for admission” means an application for admission as a lawyer (NP) under rule 25 of the Legal Profession (Admission) Rules 2024.
