(Exemption) (No. 19)
Notification 2017

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 24 of the Common Gaming Houses Act, the Minister for Home Affairs makes the following Notification:

Citation

1. This Notification is the Common Gaming Houses (Exemption) (No. 19) Notification 2017.

Definitions

2. In this Notification, unless the context otherwise requires —

“charity” means the charity registered under the Charities Act (Cap. 37) known as Aidha Ltd (UEN 201006653E);

“draw” means the draw for the lottery to be held on 24 May 2017 at 1.45 p.m. at Jen Hotel, 1A Cuscaden Road, Singapore 249716;

“event” means an event known as “WITS 2017 Spring Awards Luncheon including prize draw for charity” to be held on 24 May 2017 from 11.30 a.m. to 1.30 p.m. at Jen Hotel, 1A Cuscaden Road, Singapore 249716;

“lottery” means a lottery to be conducted by the organiser during the event;

“organiser” means the society registered under the Societies Act (Cap. 311) known as Women’s International Tennis (Singapore) (UEN T17SS0028B).

Exemption

3.—(1) The Minister exempts the organiser from the provisions of the Act in respect of the lottery and the draw.

(2) The exemption is subject to compliance by the organiser with the conditions specified in the Schedule.
