Environmental Public Health Act
(Chapter 95)
Environmental Public Health (Public Cleansing) (Amendment) Regulations 1997
In exercise of the powers conferred by section 114 of the Environmental Public Health Act, the Minister for the Environment hereby makes the following Regulations:
Citation and commencement
1.  These Regulations may be cited as the Environmental Public Health (Public Cleansing) (Amendment) Regulations 1997 and shall come into operation on 1st June 1997.
Amendment of First Schedule
2.  The First Schedule to the Environmental Public Health (Public Cleansing) Regulations (Rg 3) is amended —
(a)by deleting sub-paragraphs (i) and (ii) of Item I(a) and substituting the following sub-paragraphs:
 
“(i)cumulative load below half a tonne per vehicle per day
No fee.
 
(ii)cumulative load of half a tonne and above per vehicle per day
$23.50 for the first half a tonne and $2.35 for every additional 0.05 tonne or part thereof.”;
(b)by deleting sub-paragraphs (i) and (ii) of Item I(b) and substituting the following sub-paragraphs:
 
“(i)cumulative load below half a tonne per vehicle per day
No fee.
 
(ii)cumulative load of half a tonne and above per vehicle per day
 
 
(A)between 7.30 a.m. and 2 p.m.
$28 for the first half a tonne and $2.80 for every additional 0.05 tonne or part thereof.
 
(B)between 2 p.m. and 5 p.m.
$25 for the first half a tonne and $2.50 for every additional 0.05 tonne or part thereof.”; and
(c)by deleting sub-paragraphs (A) and (B) of Item II(a) and substituting the following sub-paragraphs:
 
“(A)between 8 a.m. and 2 p.m.
 
 
(i)load below one tonne
$11 per trip
 
(ii)load of one tonne and above
$11 for the first tonne and 55 cents for every additional 0.05 tonne or part thereof.
 
(B)between 2 p.m. and 5 p.m.
 
 
(i)load below one tonne
$5.60 per trip
 
(ii)load of one tonne and above
$5.60 for the first tonne and 28 cents for every additional 0.05 tonne or part thereof.”.
Deletion and substitution of Second Schedule
3.  The Second Schedule to the Environmental Public Health (Public Cleansing) Regulations is deleted and the following Schedule substituted therefor:

Regulation 28(1)
 
Per month
(1)Domestic premises provided with —
 
(a)direct refuse collection
$22 per premises.
(b)indirect refuse collection
$8.70 per premises.
(2)Non-domestic premises where daily quantity of refuse collected and removed —
 
(a)does not exceed 170 litres
$36 per premises.
(b)exceeds 170 litres but does not exceed 350 litres
$88.50 per premises.
(c)exceeds 350 litres but does not exceed 700 litres
$227 per premises.
(d)exceeds 700 litres but does not exceed 1,000 litres
$328 per premises.
(e)exceeds 1,000 litres
$328 per premises for every 1,000 litres or part thereof.
(3)Hawker stalls, including stalls in public markets and Statutory Board markets, and those operated on temporary permits
$20 per stall.
