(Amendment) Order 2024

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 2(2) of the International Organisations (Immunities and Privileges) Act 1948, the President makes the following Order:

Citation and commencement

1.—(1) This Order is the International Organisations (Immunities and Privileges) (Asian Development Bank) (Amendment) Order 2024 and, except for paragraphs 2, 3, 4(a) and (c) to (i) and 5, comes into operation on 1 April 2024.

(2) Paragraphs 2, 3, 4(a) and (c) to (i) and 5 are deemed to have come into operation on 31 December 2021.

Amendment of paragraph 2

2. In the International Organisations (Immunities and Privileges) (Asian Development Bank) Order 2020 (G.N. No. S 11/2020) (called in this Order the principal Order), in paragraph 2, in the definition of “goods and services tax”, replace “(Cap. 117A)” with “1993”.

Amendment of paragraph 4

3. In the principal Order, in paragraph 4 —

(a)	in the section heading, after “Asian Development Bank Act”, insert “1966”; and
(b)	replace “(Cap. 15)” with “1966”.

Amendment of paragraph 5

4. In the principal Order, in paragraph 5 —

(a)	in sub‑paragraph (5)(a), replace “(Cap. 70)” with “1960”;
(b)	in sub‑paragraph (5)(c), replace “Statutory Boards (Taxable Services) Order (Cap. 318, O 1)” with “Public Utilities (Water Conservation Tax) Order 2024 (G.N. No. S 255/2024)”;
(c)	in sub‑paragraph (5)(e), replace “(Cap. 312)” with “1929”;
(d)	in sub‑paragraph (5)(f)(i) and (ii), after “Stamp Duties Act”, insert “1929”;
(e)	in sub‑paragraph (5)(g)(ii), replace “(Cap. 276, R 31)” with “(R 31)”;
(f)	in sub‑paragraph (5)(g)(iii), replace “(Cap. 276, R 5)” with “(R 5)”; and
(g)	in sub‑paragraph (5)(g)(iv), replace “(Cap. 276)” with “1961”;
(h)	in sub‑paragraph (5)(g)(vi), after “Customs Act”, insert “1960”; and
(i)	in sub‑paragraph (6)(a) and (b), after “Road Traffic Act”, insert “1961”.

Amendment of paragraph 6

5. In the principal Order, in paragraph 6 —

(a)	in sub‑paragraphs (1)(b)(iv) and (2), after “Road Traffic Act”, insert “1961”; and
(b)	in sub‑paragraph (1)(b)(vi), after “Customs Act”, insert “1960”.
