Plant Varieties Protection
(Amendment) Rules 2022
In exercise of the powers conferred by section 54 of the Plant Varieties Protection Act 2004, the Minister for Law makes the following Rules:
Citation and commencement
1.  These Rules are the Plant Varieties Protection (Amendment) Rules 2022 and come into operation on 1 April 2022.
Miscellaneous amendments
2.  The Plant Varieties Protection Rules (R 1) are amended —
(a)by deleting the word “leave” wherever it appears in the following provisions and substituting in each case the word “permission”:
 
Rule 25
 
Rule 53(1), (2) and (3);
(b)by deleting the words “Order 41 of the Rules of Court (Cap. 322, R 5)” in rule 58(2) and substituting the words “Division 2 of Order 15 of the Rules of Court 2021 (G.N. No. S 914/2021)”;
(c)by deleting the word “Taxation” in the following rule headings and substituting in each case the word “Assessment”:

Rule 63;
(d)by deleting the word “taxed” wherever it appears in the following provisions and substituting in each case the word “assessed”:

Rule 65;
(e)by deleting the word “taxation” wherever it appears in the following provisions and substituting in each case the word “assessment”:
 
Rule 62(1)(b), (2)(d), (4) and (6)
 
Rule 63(1)
 
Rule 64(1)
 
Rule 65 (rule heading)
 
Fifth Schedule, item 11; and
(f)by deleting the word “TAXATION” in the heading above item 10 of the Fifth Schedule and substituting the word “ASSESSMENT”.
