COVID-19 (Temporary Measures)
(Extension of Prescribed Period)
(No. 2) Order 2021
In exercise of the powers conferred by section 3(2) of the COVID‑19 (Temporary Measures) Act 2020, the Minister for Law makes the following Order:
Citation
1.  This Order is the COVID-19 (Temporary Measures) (Extension of Prescribed Period) (No. 2) Order 2021.
Extension of prescribed period for Part 1 of Act
2.  The prescribed period as it applies to Part 1 of the Act is extended by a period starting on 20 April 2021 and ending on 30 September 2021.
Extension of prescribed period for Part 2 of Act
3.—(1)  The prescribed period as it applies to the following descriptions of scheduled contracts in Part 2 of the Act is extended by a period starting on 20 April 2021 and ending on 30 June 2021:
(a)an option given by a housing developer to an intending purchaser for the purchase of one or more units of housing accommodation;
(b)an agreement between a housing developer and a purchaser for the sale and purchase of one or more units of housing accommodation;
(c)an option given by a commercial developer to an intending purchaser for the purchase of one or more units of commercial property;
(d)an agreement between a commercial developer and a purchaser for the sale and purchase of one or more units of commercial property.
(2)  The prescribed period as it applies to the following descriptions of scheduled contracts in Part 2 of the Act is extended by a period starting on 20 April 2021 and ending on 30 September 2021:
(a)a construction contract or supply contract;
(b)a performance bond or equivalent that is granted pursuant to a construction contract or supply contract.
(3)  In this paragraph, “commercial developer”, “commercial property”, “housing accommodation”, “housing developer” and “unit” have the meanings given by paragraph 2 of the First Schedule to the Act.
