Building Control (Exemption from Independence of Accredited Checker) Notification 1997

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 17(6) of the Building Control Act, the Minister for National Development hereby makes the following Notification:

Citation and commencement

1. This Notification may be cited as the Building Control (Exemption from Independence of Accredited Checker) Notification 1997 and shall come into operation on 1st October 1997.

Exemption

2. Section 17(1) of the Act shall not apply to any building or building works —

(a)	carried out for the Jurong Town Corporation; and
(b)	the plans of which have been approved by a qualified person in accordance with an authorisation by the Building Authority under section 3(2) of the Act.
