Electricity (Electrical Installations)
(Amendment) Regulations 2023
In exercise of the powers conferred by section 103 of the Electricity Act 2001, the Energy Market Authority of Singapore, with the approval of the Minister for Trade and Industry, makes the following Regulations:
Citation and commencement
1.—(1)  These Regulations are the Electricity (Electrical Installations) (Amendment) Regulations 2023 and, except for regulation 3(d), come into operation on 11 May 2023.
(2)  Regulation 3(d) is deemed to have come into operation on 31 December 2021.
Amendment of regulation 40
2.  In the Electricity (Electrical Installations) Regulations (Rg 5), in regulation 40(1), after “14,”, insert “16,”.
Miscellaneous amendments
3.  In the Electricity (Electrical Installations) Regulations —
(a)in regulation 2, in the definition of “building operation”, replace “same meaning as in the Factories Act (Cap. 104)” with “meaning given by section 4(1) of the Workplace Safety and Health Act 2006”;
(b)in regulation 2, in the definition of “work of engineering construction”, replace “same meaning as in the Factories Act (Cap. 104)” with “meaning given by section 4(1) of the Workplace Safety and Health Act 2006”;
(c)in regulation 21(1)(a), replace “under the Factories Act (Cap. 104)” with “given by section 5 of the Workplace Safety and Health Act 2006”; and
(d)in the Schedule, in the Note, replace “(Cap. 117A)” with “1993”.
