(Amendment No. 2) Regulations 2022

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 77(1)(j) of the Central Provident Fund Act 1953, the Minister for Manpower, after consulting with the Central Provident Fund Board, makes the following Regulations:

Citation and commencement

1. These Regulations are the Central Provident Fund (Medisave Account Withdrawals) (Amendment No. 2) Regulations 2022 and come into operation on 1 April 2022.

Amendment of regulation 2

2. Regulation 2(1) of the Central Provident Fund (Medisave Account Withdrawals) Regulations (Rg 17) is amended by deleting the definition of “approved rehabilitation treatment” and substituting the following definition:

“ “approved rehabilitation treatment” means any of the following types of rehabilitation treatments provided by an approved day rehabilitation centre to an out‑patient:

(a)	physiotherapy;
(b)	occupational therapy;
(c)	speech therapy;
(d)	any other type of rehabilitation treatment that is approved by the Minister charged with the responsibility for health for the purposes of this Part;”.

Amendment of regulation 10

3. Regulation 10 of the Central Provident Fund (Medisave Account Withdrawals) Regulations is amended —

(a)

by deleting the words “1st June 2010; or” in paragraph (b) and substituting the words “1 June 2010 but before 1 April 2022;”; and

(b)

by inserting, immediately after paragraph (b), the following paragraph:

“(ba)

$25 per day for each type of approved rehabilitation treatment, subject to a maximum of $1,500 per year in total, if the member or member’s dependant received such treatment on or after 1 April 2022; or”.
