Central Provident Fund (Nominations)
(Amendment) Rules 2022
In exercise of the powers conferred by section 77(2) of the Central Provident Fund Act 1953, the Central Provident Fund Board makes the following Rules:
Citation and commencement
1.  These Rules are the Central Provident Fund (Nominations) (Amendment) Rules 2022 and come into operation on 1 April 2022.
New rule 1AA
2.  The Central Provident Fund (Nominations) Rules (R 1) (called in these Rules the principal Rules) are amended by inserting, immediately after rule 1, the following rule:
Definition
1AA.  In these Rules, unless the context otherwise requires, “designated shares” has the meaning given by section 2(1) of the Act.”.
Amendment of rule 2
3.  Rule 2(1) of the principal Rules is amended by deleting the words “shares designated under section 26(1) of the Act” in sub‑paragraphs (a)(ii), (b)(ii), (c)(ii) and (d)(ii) and substituting in each case the words “designated shares”.
Amendment of rule 3
4.  Rule 3(1) of the principal Rules is amended by deleting the words “shares designated under section 26(1) of the Act” in sub‑paragraph (b) and substituting the words “designated shares”.
Amendment of rule 5
5.  Rule 5 of the principal Rules is amended by deleting the words “shares in an approved corporation designated under section 26(1) of the Act” in paragraphs (1) and (2) and substituting in each case the words “designated shares”.
Amendment of rule 10
6.  Rule 10 of the principal Rules is amended by deleting the words “shares in an approved corporation designated under section 26(1) of the Act” and substituting the words “designated shares”.
Deletion of rule 11
7.  Rule 11 of the principal Rules is deleted.
