Employment (Recommendations for Annual Wage Increases) Notification 1997

Whereas the National Wages Council has made recommendations to the Government for wages increases for the period commencing on 1st July 1997 and ending on 30th June 1998 the text of which is set out in the Schedule:

And Whereas the Government has accepted those recommendations:

Now, therefore, in the exercise of the powers conferred by section 49 of the Employment Act, the Minister for Labour hereby makes the following Notification:

Citation

1. This Notification may be cited as the Employment (Recommendations for Annual Wage Increases) Notification 1997.

Annual wage increases

2. The annual wage increases which may be granted by an employer to an employee for the period commencing on 1st July 1997 and ending on 30th June 1998 shall be in accordance with the recommendations of the National Wages Council (hereinafter referred to as NWC) as set out in the Schedule.
