Education Endowment Scheme (Application of Income of Endowment Fund) Regulations 2007
In exercise of the powers conferred by sections 6 (1)(d) and 24 (f) of the Education Endowment Scheme Act, the Minister for Education hereby makes the following Regulations:
Citation and commencement
1.  These Regulations may be cited as the Education Endowment Scheme (Application of Income of Endowment Fund) Regulations 2007 and shall be deemed to have come into operation on 1st January 2006.
Application of income of Endowment Fund
2.—(1)  The income of the Endowment Fund may be paid out and expended for the provision of scholarships to any pupil enrolled in a prescribed school who is absent from the school under a leave of absence scheme offered by that school as required by the Ministry of Education.
(2)  In paragraph (1), “leave of absence scheme”, in relation to a school, means a scheme under which a pupil of the school —
(a)may continue to be enrolled in the school while he is absent from the school for a period in order to accompany his parent or parents who is or are overseas for work or work-related training; and
(b)may resume attending the school on the expiration of that period.
