Building Control (Exemption from Independence of Accredited Checker) Notification 1996

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 17(6) of the Building Control Act, the Minister for National Development hereby makes the following Notification:

1. This Notification may be cited as the Building Control (Exemption from Independence of Accredited Checker) Notification 1996 and shall come into operation on 15th July 1996.

2. Section 17(1) of the Act shall not apply to any building or building works —

(a)	carried out for the Housing and Development Board, the Land Transport Authority of Singapore or the Port of Singapore Authority; and
(b)	the plans of which have been approved by a qualified person in accordance with an authorisation by the Building Authority under section 3(2) of the Act.
