(Amendment) Regulations 2022

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 77(1)(j) of the Central Provident Fund Act 1953, the Minister for Manpower, after consulting with the Central Provident Fund Board, makes the following Regulations:

Citation and commencement

1. These Regulations are the Central Provident Fund (Medisave Account Withdrawals) (Amendment) Regulations 2022 and come into operation on 3 January 2022.

Amendment of regulation 2

2. Regulation 2(1) of the Central Provident Fund (Medisave Account Withdrawals) Regulations (Rg 17) is amended —

(a)

by deleting the definition of “approved clinical laboratory”; and

(b)

by inserting, immediately after the definition of “approved screening”, the following definition:

“ “approved screening centre” means any premises or conveyance specified in a licence granted or deemed to be granted under the Healthcare Services Act 2020 for the provision of any of the following licensable healthcare services, in respect of which there is a valid approval by the Minister for Health for the purposes of this Part, whether approved before, on or after 3 January 2022:

(a)	a clinical laboratory service;
(b)	a radiological service;”.

Miscellaneous amendment

3. The Central Provident Fund (Medisave Account Withdrawals) Regulations are amended by deleting the words “approved clinical laboratory” in the following provisions and substituting in each case the words “approved screening centre”:

Regulation 2(1) (paragraph (ca) of the definition of “approved medical institution”)

Regulation 14B(1)

Regulation 24(1)(j).
