Environmental Protection and Management
(Vehicular Emissions) (Amendment)
Regulations 2012
In exercise of the powers conferred by section 77(1) of the Environmental Protection and Management Act, the National Environment Agency, with the approval of the Minister for the Environment and Water Resources, hereby makes the following Regulations:
Citation and commencement
1.  These Regulations may be cited as the Environmental Protection and Management (Vehicular Emissions) (Amendment) Regulations 2012 and shall come into operation on 1st July 2012.
Amendment of regulation 2
2.  Regulation 2 of the Environmental Protection and Management (Vehicular Emissions) Regulations (Rg 6) is amended by inserting, immediately after the definition of “certificate of compliance”, the following definition:
“ “diesel engine” means an internal combustion engine which operates by burning diesel;”.
Amendment of regulation 3
3.  Regulation 3 of the Environmental Protection and Management (Vehicular Emissions) Regulations is amended by inserting, immediately after paragraph (2), the following paragraph:
“(3)  Regulations 4 and 6 shall not apply to any diesel engine installed in or carried on a motor vehicle unless the diesel engine propels the motor vehicle.”.
