Environmental Protection and Management
(Energy Conservation) (Amendment)
Regulations 2012

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 77 of the Environmental Protection and Management Act, the National Environment Agency, with the approval of the Minister for the Environment and Water Resources, hereby makes the following Regulations:

Citation and commencement

1. These Regulations may be cited as the Environmental Protection and Management (Energy Conservation) (Amendment) Regulations 2012 and shall come into operation on 1st July 2012.

Amendment of regulation 2

2. Regulation 2 of the Environmental Protection and Management (Energy Conservation) Regulations (Rg 10) (referred to in these Regulations as the principal Regulations) is amended —

(a)

by deleting paragraph (c) of the definition of “energy efficiency”;

(b)

by deleting the definitions of “motor vehicle” and “Registrar”;

(c)

by deleting paragraph (a) of the definition of “test report” and substituting the following paragraph:

“(a)	the report of the test carried out for the registrable goods or registered goods (as the case may be) in accordance with the prevailing test standard or method specified in the Second Schedule; and”; and

(d)

by deleting the definition of “type-approval”.

Amendment of regulation 3

3. Regulation 3(4) of the principal Regulations is amended by deleting the words “(except a motor vehicle with no production model and without type-approval)” in sub-paragraph (a).

Amendment of regulation 7

4. Regulation 7(1) of the principal Regulations is amended by deleting the words “(except a motor vehicle with no production model and without type-approval)”.

Amendment of First Schedule

5. The First Schedule to the principal Regulations is amended —

(a)	by deleting the Energy Label for motor vehicles;
(b)	by deleting paragraph 3; and
(c)	by deleting the definition of “Fuel Consumption” in paragraph 4.

Amendment of Second Schedule

6. The Second Schedule to the principal Regulations is amended —

(a)	by deleting the items relating to “Motor Vehicles” and their entries in paragraph 1; and
(b)	by deleting the definition of “UN ECE R 101” in paragraph 2.

Amendment of Third Schedule

7. The Third Schedule to the principal Regulations is amended —

(a)	by deleting paragraph (c) of item 2; and
(b)	by deleting paragraph (c) of item 3.
