Building Control
(Amendment)
Regulations 2023

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 49 of the Building Control Act 1989, the Minister for National Development makes the following Regulations:

Citation and commencement

1. These Regulations are the Building Control (Amendment) Regulations 2023 and come into operation on 1 June 2023.

Amendment of regulation 42

2. In the Building Control Regulations 2003 (G.N. No. S 666/2003), in regulation 42(2)(fa) —

(a)

replace “following clearances, permits or approvals” with “following clearances, permits, approvals, notifications or certifications”;

(b)

in sub-paragraph (v), delete “and” at the end; and

(c)

after sub-paragraph (v), insert —

“(vi)	any clearance issued by the Urban Redevelopment Authority confirming that all the conditions of an approval by an authorised officer under section 10(1), 12(1) or 13(1) of the Common Services Tunnels Act 2018 have been complied with;
(vii)	any notification or certification issued by a market support services licensee that it has checked an electrical installation mentioned in regulation 5(1)(b) of the Electricity (Electrical Installations) Regulations (Rg 5) in accordance with the requirements of the Energy Market Authority of Singapore;
(viii)	any approval by the Commissioner of Infrastructure Protection of a certificate of works completion under the Infrastructure Protection Act 2017;
(ix)	any clearance issued by the Urban Redevelopment Authority acknowledging that a declaration has been submitted in accordance with section 24B(4) of the Planning Act 1998; and”.

Amendment of regulation 43

3. In the Building Control Regulations 2003, in regulation 43(3)(ca), replace “or approvals” with “, approvals, notifications or certifications”.
