Road Traffic (Road Pricing) (Amendment) Rules 1997

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 140 of the Road Traffic Act, the Minister for Communications hereby makes the following Rules:

Citation and commencement

1. These Rules may be cited as the Road Traffic (Road Pricing) (Amendment) Rules 1997 and shall come into operation on 1st July 1997.

Deletion and substitution of rule 3

2. Rule 3 of the Road Traffic (Road Pricing) Rules (R 35) is deleted and the following rule substituted therefor:

“Road pricing licence required during restricted hours

3.—(1) No person shall, during the restricted hours, drive or ride or move a motor vehicle (not being a motor cycle) —

(a)

into any specified entry point on a road as set out in Part I of the First Schedule unless there is in force in respect of such vehicle —

(i)	a road pricing licence issued under these Rules; or
(ii)	an area licence issued under rule 5(2) or (3) of the Road Traffic (Restricted Zone and Area Licences) Rules (R 12); or

(b)

into any specified entry point on a road as set out in Part II of the First Schedule unless there is in force in respect of the motor vehicle —

(i)	a road pricing licence issued under these Rules; or
(ii)	an area licence issued under rule 5(3) of the Road Traffic (Restricted Zone and Area Licences) Rules.

(2) No person shall, during the restricted hours, drive or ride or move a motor cycle into any specified entry point on a road as set out in Part I or II of the First Schedule unless there is in force in respect of the motor cycle —

(a)	a road pricing licence issued under these Rules; or
(b)	an area licence issued under rule 5(2) or (3) of the Road Traffic (Restricted Zone and Area Licences) Rules.”.

Deletion and substitution of First Schedule

3. The First Schedule to the Road Traffic (Road Pricing) Rules is deleted and the following Schedule substituted therefor:

“FIRST SCHEDULE

Rules 2 and 3

Specified Entry Points on Roads

Part I

1. Between Lamp Post V13 and Lamp Post V15 on the East Coast Parkway on the westbound carriageway.

2. Between Lamp Post 33 and Lamp Post 34 on the East Coast Parkway westbound carriageway from Ophir Road.

3. Between Lamp Post 593S1 and Lamp Post 595 on the Pan-Island Expressway on the westbound carriageway.

4. Between Lamp Post 79 and Lamp Post 81 on the slip road from Kallang Bahru into the Pan-Island Expressway.

Part II

1. Between Lamp Post 315 and Lamp Post 317 on the Central Expressway on the southbound carriageway.

2. Between Lamp Post 475 and Lamp Post 477 on the Central Expressway on the southbound carriageway.”.
