(Medisave Account Withdrawals)
(Amendment No. 2) Regulations 2001

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 77(1)(j) of the Central Provident Fund Act, the Minister for Manpower, after consultation with the Central Provident Fund Board, hereby makes the following Regulations:

Citation and commencement

1.—(1) These Regulations may be cited as the Central Provident Fund (Medisave Account Withdrawals) (Amendment No. 2) Regulations 2001.

(2) Regulations 6, 7 (c) and (d) and 9 (a) and (d) shall be deemed to have come into operation on 1st January 2001.

(3) Regulations 2 (a) and (b), 7 (a) and 8 (a) shall be deemed to have come into operation on 22nd May 2001.

(4) Regulations 2 (c), 3, 4, 5, 7 (b), 8 (b) and 9 (b), (c), (e) and (f) shall be deemed to have come into operation on 1st June 2001.

Amendment of regulation 3

2. Regulation 3(1) of the Central Provident Fund (Medisave Account Withdrawals) Regulations (Rg 17) (referred to in these Regulations as the principal Regulations) is amended —

(a)

by deleting the word “or” at the end of sub-paragraph (g);

(b)

by deleting the comma at the end of sub-paragraph (h) and substituting a semi-colon, and by inserting immediately thereafter the following sub-paragraph:

“(i)	the SNEC Eye Associates; or”; and

(c)

by inserting, immediately after sub-paragraph (i), the following sub-paragraph:

“(j)	the Specialist Surgery and Laser Centre Pte Ltd,”.

Amendment of regulation 8

3. Regulation 8 (1) of the principal Regulations is amended by deleting “$100” in sub-paragraph (b) and substituting “$125”.

Amendment of regulation 15

4. Regulation 15 (1) of the principal Regulations is amended —

(a)	by deleting the word “Subject” in the 1st line and substituting the words “Notwithstanding anything in these Regulations but subject”; and
(b)	by deleting “$2,000” in sub-paragraph (a) and substituting “$4,000”.

Amendment of regulation 16

5. Regulation 16 (1) of the principal Regulations is amended by deleting “$400” in sub-paragraphs (a), (b) and (c) and substituting in each case “$450”.

Amendment of regulation 17

6. Regulation 17 of the principal Regulations is amended by deleting “$3,000” in the last line and substituting “$3,500”.

Amendment of regulation 19

7. Regulation 19 of the principal Regulations is amended —

(a)	by deleting the words “or the National Dental Centre” in the 4th line of paragraph (1) and substituting the words “, National Dental Centre, SNEC Eye Associates”;
(b)	by inserting, immediately after the words “SNEC Eye Associates” in the 4th line of paragraph (1), the words “or Specialist Surgery and Laser Centre Pte Ltd”;
(c)	by deleting the words “subject to a maximum of $3,000 per year per patient” in paragraph (1)(ca); and
(d)	by deleting paragraph (3).

Amendment of regulation 23

8. Regulation 23 of the principal Regulations is amended —

(a)	by deleting the words “or the approved clinic” in the 5th line and substituting the words “, the approved clinic, SNEC Eye Associates”; and
(b)	by inserting, immediately after the words “SNEC Eye Associates” in the 5th line, the words “or Specialist Surgery and Laser Centre Pte Ltd”.

Amendment of Schedule

9. The Schedule to the principal Regulations is amended —

(a)	by deleting the words “The total amount that may be withdrawn by a member for the payment of any radiotherapy treatment received by him or his dependant under this paragraph shall not exceed $3,000 per year per patient.” at the end of item 1;
(b)	by deleting the words “1st January 1998” in the second column of item 3 and substituting the words “1st June 2001”;
(c)	by deleting the words “$400” and “$100 per week” in the 1st and in the 3rd and 4th lines of the third column of item 3 and substituting “$1,200” and “$300”, respectively;
(d)	by deleting the words “subject to a maximum claim of $3,000 per year” in the 5th, 6th and 7th lines of the third column of item 3;
(e)	by deleting the words “1st November 1998” in the second column of item 4 and substituting the words “1st June 2001”; and
(f)	by deleting “$500” in the 1st line of the third column of item 4 and substituting “$550”. [G.N. Nos. S 198/98; S 532/98; S 232/99; S 493/99; S 435/2000; S 526/2000; S 108/2001]
